The 2024 Engineer's Week Banquet, was held on February 22nd at the DeRosa Center at the University of the Pacific. This annual event provides a platform for local engineers, allied professionals, and individuals with an interest in engineering to come together and recognize the contributions and achievements of the field.

Engineer Of The Year Award
2024 Engineer of the Year
Steve Knell, P.E.
The Engineer of the Year Award is a
highly coveted recognition bestowed upon individuals who have
demonstrated exceptional dedication to their engineering profession
and community. Each year, participating engineering societies
nominate deserving candidates who hold both an engineering education
and a license to practice engineering.
Since 1967, the San Joaquin Engineers Council has been granting this
award annually. The selection process is carried out by a committee
of previous award recipients.
This year, the 2024 Engineer of the Year award goes to Steve Knell.
Mr. Knell is a Civil Engineer, recently retired as the General Manager of the Oakdale Irrigation
District.
His remarkable achievements and contributions to the field will be
celebrated at the SJEC Awards Banquet, where he will be honored as
the Engineer of the Year.

Yolande Peterson
It is with great honor that the 2024 Distinguished Service Award recipient is announced as Yolande Peterson. Ms. Peterson is a professor of Mathematics at Modesto Junior College.
Ms. Yolande's exceptional contributions to the field will be celebrated at the SJEC Awards Banquet, where she will receive the Distinguished Service Award.
